Mercan Properties Group invests €18.2 million in hotel on Alentejo coast

The Mercan Properties Group's first project on the Costa Vicentina is expected to open in the second half of 2024.

The Mercan Properties Group announces a new project for the construction of a hotel on the Costa de Santo André beach, in Santiago do Cacém, which should open its doors in the summer of 2024.

Located on the Costa Vicentina, the new hotel represents an investment of €18.2 million, which will allow the creation of around 50 jobs during the 14 months of construction, and 30 more in the operational phase. The hotel, now announced, will be the first project on the Alentejo coast, and the third one in the entire Alentejo region, along with the two projects located in Évora, Holiday Inn Express, and Hilton Garden Inn, the latter expected to open its doors even earlier. from the beginning of this summer.

The 4-star hotel development, located 300 meters from the beach, results from the rehabilitation of an existing building and has a gross construction area of around 2600 m2, with a total of 44 rooms and high-comfort suites, with stunning views over the Atlantic. In addition to all its amenities, guests will also enjoy a rooftop pool, gym, restaurant, and bar.

Designed by the Architect Sofia Reis and the Interior Design of Nanodesign, the new hotel unit was planned to provide a total relaxation experience, in a familiar and welcoming environment, which breathes the calm and serenity of the unique landscape that influences the picturesque village of Santo André,  its Lagoons and Nature Reserve, and the south-warm beach of Melides, located just a few minutes away from the hotel.
